I developed my background in traditional embroidery through my degree in Art and Design, which I completed in 1990. I specialised in textiles and developed a passion for texture and colour. I continued my studies with a PGCE and have been teaching in schools since 1991. I completed my City and Guilds in embroidery during 2004. I am currently a lecturer in City and Guilds Design and Embroidery at Eccles Farm Needlework Centre as well as teaching in schools. I have been an artist in residence in schools and a registered schools and a registered schools project artist. As a designer in an artists' studio centre, I have provided courses for adults and children as well as selling my work. As a full time designer, I have designed and sold commercial art nationally and I have exhibited my textile work widely as a member of eclectic art groups. The main focus of my work is currently as a member of One Step On. Click on all images for detail |
