Alison Peters

I have always had an appreciation for the textile arts but this developed into a passion for embroidery whilst I was studying for a Degree in Design Crafts at Herefordshire College of Art and Design. It was there that I tried machine embroidery and used the technique to reflect my interest in medieval tapestries.
I like to use nature as a subject matter, being drawn to the subtleties of colours, and light and dark tones. I use my sewing machine as a paintbrush, I paint what I see and build up colour and shading to create work that is very detailed.
I have only recently joined One Step On and see it as an opportunity to develop my work and to exhibit with like minded people.
